Absolutely brilliant - from Gary’s accurate valuation and professional presentation to Lorraine’s incredible dedication to getting a fairly complex sale over the line. People talk about the “wow” factor for customer/client care and it certainly applies here. People are often quick to complain at length but often keep their positive reviews short and sweet, and I get that - nothing like venting at length when one experiences disappointment! However, I’ll try to explain in detail why Cairds are the BEST estate agents I’ve ever worked with. Being honest, whilst I’ve worked with a few others including a rather disappointing agent (who shall remain nameless) previously, every customer experience, including my own, will lack comparative data. So how does one choose the “right” agent, or, the right agent “for them”? This is why, this time, I wanted to de-risk, so I prepared my questions, then met with multiple agents before making a decision who to work with to sell the house. Some agents valued higher, some lower, and it was all very interesting. But no-one was as thorough as Gary. So, before I praise Lorraine to the sky (as she deserves - and, as a bonus, what a lovely team generally!) I must say a huge thank you to Gary. If not for his perfect presentation and ability to not only answer my questions but to answer questions I hadn’t even asked, thus, demonstrating his insight and desire to “educate” me as an informed client, I may not have even have chosen to work with Cairds at all. I saw 7 or 8 agents and the quality ranged wildly. Most were good to be fair, and some were particularly impressive, and very likeable too. Gary and Cairds, however, went the extra mile in terms of ideas and also showed they had a clear understanding and dedication to regulatory compliance, etc. Not to say other agents didn’t, but with my background in Policy this was a huge tick in the Yes/Pro column. Once the sale process began, I couldn’t fault them. Lorraine ended up as my PoC and basically led the rest of the process. Cairds had their own de-risking processes to avoid sales falling through, but all without me feeling as if they were trying to sell below true market value - that’s not an easy balancing act. They understood, as do I, that it’s not just about the figure, but the sale being completed successfully. Whatever you multiply by zero will be zero, after all. They get that, and I think they appreciated that I did too. Nevertheless, we all pushed for the best price whilst being fair to all sides. Following this, there were a number of processes involved that had little to do with Cairds - in terms of decisions; they had involvement administratively - and some took longer than ideal. Despite this, at no point did I feel Cairds or Lorraine specifically were leaving me hanging, having to chase them for updates. I normally hate business-speak but they really do “go the extra mile” and they are “proactive”. This demonstrated incredible professionalism, dedication and recognition of me as a client. I felt they did this to the buyer, too, so it’s not all about me. Both sides need to be satisfied and I hope the buyer felt what I did because I honestly can’t fault - nor would I want to - any part of my experience with Cairds. Thank you Gary, and a huge thank you, too, Lorraine. I will never stop being grateful.

As a buyer looking in the Ashtead area, I really enjoyed working with Jo at Cairds. It took us just over 6 months to find our home, and during that time she remained in contact and would let us know about upcoming properties that fit our criteria. Her communication during the buying process was consistent and helpful and made everything go smoothly. She was very good at keeping us updated and worked with all parties to find a completion date that would work for everyone.

I would highly recommend Cairds Estate agent. George was amazing throughout the sale of my property. He was constantly in contact with myself and the buyers, ensuring the sale was driven forward and both parties were aware of the current status and any issues or delays. This allowed us to follow up and chase where necessary (which I have found is very necessary with managing agents and solicitors!) Cairds also managed the lettings for me and again I would recommend them for this service. The staff are friendly, professional and deliver.

I can’t thank enough my estate agent, Gavin Newton, who helped with the process of selling my property and buying a new one, through the Cairds Ashtead branch. I honestly don’t think this sale would have completed without Gavin’s diligence and professionalism. He followed up closely, through every step, he chased people for me when I was busy with work, in short he ensure this business was going to be a success. We had a very unique house to sell that required finding a buyer who loved that uniqueness. Gavin at Cairds has been great throughout the whole sale process, from start to finish- he found us a buyer, helped us in the negotiation process and made sure to get the sale over the line, while always keeping us up to the date.
